I had my blood work done,
had been avoiding testing for years now because I'm a coward and fear bad news.
But we discovered this summer that my blood pressure was dangerously high (it's under control now)
So it had to be done.
Amazingly my blood sugar and cholesterol are just fine,
but my thyroid seems to be working too slow. Just within the limits, but slow.
I'll have to follow up on that when things calm down a little on the Lion King's side,
But I googled it and I really have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
The solution would be a pill as a substitute for the hormones that the thyroid is not producing.
So now,
only for this evening,
I allow myself to dream
of a life in which
I'm not obese
I'm not slow in my movements,
I'm not always tired
I'm not so forgetful and brainfogged
I'm not so prone to depression
and if course my blood pressure and heart are ok.
Can you imagine that?
That this would all be
- not resolved
but better,
just better?
That this would not just be who I am?
That if my body worked correctly, I would feel better?
Not that I feel bad,
I feel just like I always do,
I'm not complaining.
But can you imagine...?
